A pleasure trip to Honduras turns into a nightmare for Biggles when he ventures deep into the jungle in search of lost treasure. With his plane out of fuel and riddled with bullet holes, he seems doomed to meet the same grisly fate that befell other expeditions in the past. But giant snakes, savage piranha fish, armies of ants and natives with poisoned darts are the least of his worries, for a bloodthirsty rogue and his pack of desperadoes are anxious to keep the jungle's secrets to themselves-even if that meants putting the gallant airmen into a cage with a man-eating panther!

He is on the trail of as wicked a bunch of thugs as he has ever encountered. They are bringing down planes, in some mysterious fashion, containing high-ranking military personnel with top-secret knowledge. Biggles has to find out first how it is done, then he's got to put a stop to it. Rhinos on landing grounds, poisonous mamba snakes, hungry lions and spear-happy tribesmen don't exactly help an air detective in the course of duty. But Biggles wins through...
